Saturday’s rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the more than 600 children who participated in Riverhead Recreation Department’s annual egg hunt Sunday afternoon at Stotzky Park.

The event, postponed to Sunday by the rainy weather Saturday, still packed out the park with children up to age 9 racing for eggs in three separate age-segregated events.

More than 3,000 plastic eggs containing candy and prizes were colleceted. The child who recovered the “golden egg” won a huge chocolate Easter Bunny.
