William James Jones, of Mastic Beach, formerly of Riverhead, died at home on April 11, 2012. He was 69 years old.
Born on March 6, 1944 in Buffalo, he was the son of Raymond and Loretta (Williams) Jones. He moved to Riverhead in 1949, where he remained until 2009, when he moved to Mastic Beach.
Jones worked at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center as a stationary engineer.
Jones is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce, and by his sons John, Jeffery, R. Douglas and Raymond Hensley, and his daughters Maria, Kristine, Samantha and Brittany Hensley. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Mastic Beach; interment will follow at Wading River Cemetery.
