Carol A. Porter, of Riverhead, died April 16, 2013 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 55 years old.
A lifetime Riverhead resident, she was born in Southampton on July 31, 1957 and worked as a cook at Hampton Bays Elementary School.

Porter also enjoyed going upstate twice a year to visit areas like Lake Placid and Lake George, and also took out-of-state trips to North Carolina, he said.
“She was loved by many children,” he said, “She worked for 15 years in the Hampton Bays Elementary School and all the children knew her.”
