The Riverhead Business Improvement District Management Association board of directors has approved a $15,000 expenditure for Fourth of July fireworks this year, to be accompanied by a Brady Rymer concert and other family-friendly entertainment, for a total event expense of $20,000. Some BIDMA members think the organization should spend less money on events and allocate its budget, funded by taxes on properties in the special tax district, toward other things that would more directly benefit properties in the district.
