A Riverhead auto dealership is planning a promotion this Saturday aimed at raising $6,000 for the high school’s drama club.
Thomas Williams, the general manager of Riverhead Ford Lincoln on Old Country Road, said he is prepared to donate $20 to the Riverhead Blue Masques for every person who registers and test-drives a new Lincoln this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Williams has three children who have participated in Blue Masques productions, including current stage manager, Rachael.
“Our goal is to raise $6,000 through the promotion,” he said. “Everybody always looks to athletics with donations but this club is a very important part of the school and it’s usually the first program to get cut [for financial reasons].”
Opening night for The Blue Masques presentation of “Fiddler on the Roof” will take place 7 p.m. Saturday night at Riverhead High School.
New Lincolns available to test-drive Saturday are the MKZ, MKS, MKT and MKZ.
