The Riverhead Blue Waves varsity girls lacrosse team was overpowered by the North Babylon Bulldogs Wednesday afternoon at home, losing 18-12 and falling to 2-9 on the season.
“[North Babylon] had a lot of speed on us that we just weren’t able to handle today,’ said head coach Ashley King after the game.
Carolyn Carrera led the Waves in scoring. She had five goals and two assists. Samantha Brodeur followed with four goals.
Riverhead will host Patchogue-Medford for their next game next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
