Julius Stapon, of Aquebogue, died at his home on April 23, 2013. He was 96 years old.
He was born July 26, 1916 in Aquebogue to Charles Stapon and Martha Petrowicz. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a heavy equipment operator at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ainslee, in 2006. He is survived by his son, Richard Stapon and Richard’s wife, Kathleen, of Aquebogue; and his daughter, Patricia Wokosky and her husband, Kenneth, of Aquebogue.
The family received visitors April 25, 2013 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service was held Friday, April 26 at St. Isidore’s RC Church, officiated by Friar Robert Kuznik. Interment followed at Sound Avenue Cemetery in Aquebogue.
