Riverhead Middle School musicians had a great showing at the Music in the Parks competition held at Lake Compounce in Connecticut May 31, bringing home seven trophies and two medals.
The RMS Wind Ensemble was chosen as the “overall concert band of the day” and won a first place Superior rating. The Show Choir, Jazz Band and Chamber Orchestra all earned Excellent ratings and first place as well. Chamber Orchestra won “best overall”.
Rodrigo Castillo won “best jazz solo of the day,” and Lauren Anasky won “best overall vocal solo of the day.” Congratulations, musicians!
