About 100 motorcycles formed a caravan yesterday in a ride from Flanders to Hampton Bays and back in memory of two members of the Tocci family, of Flanders, who perished in separate motor vehicle accidents this year.

Riders wore purple T-shirts bearing images of Barbara Tocci, who was killed in a motor vehicle accident on Flanders Road in January, and her daughter-in-law-to-be, Hayley Riggins, who was killed in April in California when the motorcycle she was riding was struck by a car driven by a woman police said was high on drugs.

The bikers started out at the Priscilla Avenue home of Michael Pace and drove north on Rt. 24 to County Road 51, then past the county center where Tocci worked and continued south to Montauk Highway, then east to Flanders Road, stopping at her graveside in Flanders Cemetery for a brief service.

The ride raised money for “Barbara Tocci’s Random Acts of Kindness” and East End Hospice’s “Camp Good Grief.” A donation will also be made to support Tocci’s granddaughter, Kadence, said Tocci’s sister, Susan Tocci.
