Suffolk County Sheriff Vincent F. DeMarco will be hosting the annual Sheriff’s Open House and Family Day on Sunday, September 28 from 10 to 3 p.m. This is a rain or shine event.

The event will highlight Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office more than 330 years of service on Long Island, its history as the oldest continuous law enforcement agency in the county, as well as the work of the County’s Deputy Sheriffs and Correction Officers.

This year, families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the sounds of country music, courtesy of Long Island’s 96.1 MyCountry radio station. There will also be K-9 demonstrations, jail tours (for ages 12 and up), law enforcement presentations, Amber Alert Child ID Cards, a bike rodeo and obstacle course, exciting Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team demonstrations, Sheriff’s Senior Medical ID Cards and more.

Attendees are asked to park in the parking lot of the Riverhead Correctional Facility located on Rt. 24/Nugent Drive in Riverhead.
