Pierce J. Power, of Cutchogue, died September 8, 2014. He was 85 years old.

He was born on September 13, 1928 to Pierce H. and Margaret Power in Woodside, Queens.

He served in the U.S. Marines from 1951 to 1962, attaining the rank of captain. Thereafter he worked as a lawyer in his firm Power, Meehan & Petrelli, PC.


Power enjoyed golf, soccer, reading and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the North Fork Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Rita, his sons Pierce, of Oregon, Mathew, of East Northport, and Daniel, of Florida. He is also survived by his brother Justin and sisters, Margaret Reilly and Agnes Savino and by six grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, September 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster Heppner Funeral Home. A service will be held in Wednesday, September 10 at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabama Church. Interment will be at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery in Flushing, Queens.
