RiverheadLOCAL and SoutholdLOCAL will host two candidate debates this fall: one between the candidates for the First Congressional District and one between the candidates for the Second Assembly District.
The assembly candidates debate, between Democrat Tom Schiliro and Republican Anthony Palumbo will be held Sept. 29.
The congressional candidates debate, between Republican Lee Zeldin and Democrat Tim Bishop, will be held Oct. 8.
Both debates will take place at Riverhead Polish Hall on Marcy Avenue. Both will begin at 7 p.m. Admission to both events is free.
Questions will be posed by RiverheadLOCAL editor and publisher Denise Civiletti. RiverheadLOCAL seeks the public’s input for topics and questions. Please send in your suggestions by clicking here. Please indicate “Assembly Debate” or “Congressional Debate” in the subject line. Questions will not be taken from the audience at the debate.
“We are very pleased to host these debates so that local residents can gain a better understanding of where the candidates stand on issues that are importance to our community,” said RiverheadLOCAL publisher Peter Blasl. “Please let us know what you’d like to ask them about.”
