The Town of Riverhead Recreation Department is set to host its 17th Annual Snapper Tournament, Saturday, September 27, 2014 on the beautiful Peconic Riverfront. The Focus of the tournament is to get youth and adults involved in fishing and to raise money for the Riverhead Recreation Department Scholarship Fund.
Two Divisions: Adults (16&up) and Youth (under 16). Rod/Reel will go to the 1st place winner in each division. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each division. Free T-shirts for the first 100 Registrants. Pre- Registration is available by calling 727-5744 ext. 0, online at www.riverheadrecreation.com, or in person at the Recreation Dept. 55 Columbus Ave. Riverhead.
On-site registration will begin at 10 a.m. on the Peconic Riverfront. The Tournament begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. A Chinese auction for prizes donated by local businesses will begin around 3:15 p.m.
Anglers must supply their own rod & reel and bait.
