Forty-five students from Riverhead High School have been recognized as College Board AP Scholars for the 2013-2014 school year.
Every fall, College Board releases the names of students who scored exceptionally well on its college-level “advanced placement” exams.
“We are very proud of the growth that our students have shown in both taking and excelling on AP exams,” said school district superintendent Nancy Carney.
This past year, seven students from Riverhead earned the “AP Scholar with distinction” designation, which is awarded to students who have an average score of 3.5 or higher on all AP exams taken as well as scores of 3 or higher on at least five of these exams.
“If you see any of these students throughout the next couple of days, please take the time congratulate them,” said Riverhead High School Principal Charles Regan. “We are very proud of their accomplishments.”
