The Allstate Corporation is the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in America. Allstate was founded in 1931 and became a publicly traded company in 1993. In 2014 Allstate was number 92 on the Fortune 500 list of largest companies in America, according to their website.

The agency offers a drive in claim center at the Riverhead location and conducts regular defensive driver classes on site and online.

History
“I was working in the advertising department of a large vitamin company in Bohemia in early 1987 when my college friend asked me if I wanted to become an agent for Allstate,” said Hanlon.
“When she initially approached me, the first vision that flashed in my mind was of calling people midway through dinner and receiving the same curt responses my mom gave the life insurance guy, before hanging up the phone,” said Hanlon.
Though she politely declined, Hanlon was eventually convinced to go on an interview and get more information. It turned out to be a very wise decision on her part.
“I have been able to build a very successful business with Allstate in the Riverhead area over the last 27 years, while earning Allstate’s highest awards of Inner Circle, Chairman’s award and National Champions.”
In 2009 Hanlon and Allstate added another location in Wading River and just celebrated the fifth year of being open.

“My involvement with the community is another great source of pride and happiness for me. In fact, I have been nominated on two occasions for Allstate’s prestigious Ray Lynch award. This award recognizes an agent’s involvement in the community,” said Hanlon.
Future Plans
Hanlon is looking to keep the Allstate tradition in the family.
“My oldest son Stephen is now in college and studying business with the hopes of working in the agency and he is confident in the knowledge that his grandma won’t hang up on him if he calls during dinner.”
