A pair of car crashes in downtown Riverhead Wednesday afternoon sent two people to Peconic Bay Medical Center with minor injuries.

At about 3 p.m. on Pulaski Street, an eastbound Chevy attempted to turn lef onto Raynor Avenue and collided with a westbound Honda CRV. The female driver of the Chevy was injured and transported to PBMC by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

An hour later, just after 4 p.m., another woman was injured in a rear-end collision on Northville Turnpike near East Avenue. She was also taken to PBMC by RVAC.

Neither woman was seriously injured, police said.
