Vincent A. Kobielski of Jamesport died Sept. 29, 2014 at Stony Brook University Hospital. He was 71 years old.

Born in Queens on Nov. 1, 1942, he was the son of Vincent and Mary Kobielski. He was a postal worker at the Riverhead post office for 36 years. He was a member of the St. Isidore Society, the St. Isidore Holy Name Society and Riverhead Polish Hall.

He and his wife Barbara Leoniak were married on Oct. 26, 1963 in Brooklyn. According to family, Kobielski was a people person who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and gardening.

Predeceased by his parents and sister, Celia Klujsza, he is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters, Theresa Zilnicki of Riverhead, Diane Jacobson of Riverhead and Halina Kobielski of Medford; brother Edward of Florida; and his beloved grandchildren, Alissa and Veronica Jacobson, Allan Vincent and Ava Zilnicki.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held on Oct. 2 at St. Isidore’s Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery. The family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Isidore Church.
