Sixteen businesses have already signed on as sponsors for the Harlem Wizards basketball event, a fundraiser for the Riverhead Central Faculty Association (RCFA) Scholarship Fund, scheduled for 7 p.m. November 19th at Riverhead High School. Last year, the event drew 1,100 spectators, and organizers project a packed house again.

The highest level sponsorship, the Slam Dunk, has been claimed by Stacey Braun Associates; other sponsors include RiverheadLocal, Duffy’s Deli, Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices of Riverhead, Riverhead Building Supply, Joe’s Garage, Mirkin & Gordon P.C., Skydive Long Island, Neefus Stype Insurance Agent Chip Puccio, CGAA Registered Investment Advisors, Advanced Orthopedics, Decision 2000, Revco Lighting + Electrical Supply, East End Asphalt, Home Town Electric, and Sele-Dent.

“We are thrilled that sponsor interest has been so robust,” said Gregory Wallace, RCFA Treasurer. “Based on the interest and the individual conversations I’ve had with sponsors, it’s clear that local businesses see the value in supporting this community event and the RCFA Scholarship Fund.”

The three available levels of sponsorship are: Three Point ($500; logo and website link on ticket sale website; half-page advertisement in program; two announcements at event; logo on team shirts; logo displayed in gymnasium), Rebound ($250; logo and website link on ticket sale website; quarter-page advertisement in event program; one announcement at event; logo displayed at souvenir stand), and Sixth Man ($100; business-card advertisement in event program; one announcement at the event). Interested parties should contact Gregory Wallace at rcfascholarshipfund@gmail.com for information.

“Whenever Riverhead’s teachers and businesses can come together as a community,” added RCFA President Lisa Goulding, “Riverhead’s students win.”

Last year, the RCFA awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships to deserving students.

Ticket sales open on October 15th online at www.harlemwizards.com and locally at both Duffy’s Deli locations. Tickets are $10/students and $12/general admission in advance and $12/students and $15/general admission at the door, if available. Twenty-five courtside tickets will be available for $25 exclusively at Duffy’s Deli, and those include a meet-and-greet with the Harlem Wizards before the game.
