The Blue Waves community turned out to cheer for the annual homecoming parade in downtown Riverhead this afternoon, lining Main Street and Osborn Avenue to watch the . culmination of “spirit week” in Riverhead wend its way to Coach Mike McKillop Memorial Field.

The theme for this year’s floats was classic fairy tales: Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland The Three Little Pigs and The Ugly Duckling.

Each class float was displayed upon a flatbed truck lent by Riverhead Building Supply.

Otis Ford lent five convertibles to carry school district officials as well as the homecoming royalty: Class of 2018 duke and dutchess, Seth Freudenberg and Hanna Baldwin; Class of Class of 2017 lord and lady, Henry Gobrick and Kathleen Gregory; Class of 2016
prince and princess, Karol Birycki and Sierra Roces; and Class of 2015
king and queen, Raheem Brown and Ines Garcia-Rojas.

Float contest winners were selected by a panel of judges. First place went to the junior class for their very spirited rendition of Alice in Wonderland. Sophomores took second
place for Alice in Wonderland. Freshman finished third with The Three Little Pigs and the senior class placed last for Cinderella.
