A rear-end crash on Roanoke Avenue near the intersection of Cranberry Street sent two to the hospital around 9:50 this morning.

A PT Cruiser was heading southbound down Roanoke Avenue when it collided with the rear of a Dodge pickup truck also traveling southbound, according to police.

The male driver of the PT Cruiser and the female driver of the Dodge pickup were both taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries by the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Roanoke Avenue was temporarily closed from Cranberry Street to Pulaski Street; the road was re-opened around 10:15. No tickets have been issued at this time.
