Wildwood State Park in Wading River has been opened to deer-hunting during archery season this year.

The State Department of Environmental Conservation and Suffolk County Parks Department have designated 461 of the state park’s 772 acres for archery-only hunting of deer from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31. See map below.

The park will not be open for hunting during the special firearms season in January.

All deer taken on the Wildwood State Park cooperative area must be checked at the Ridge Hunter Check Station.

A DEC managed land seasonal access permit is required (in addition to the required state hunting licenses and tags.) The managed land seasonal access permit is free and is valid for three years. Apply online for seasonal access permit.
