Helen L. Case, lifelong resident of Riverhead, died November 24, 2014. She was 83 years old.

Case was born September 3, 1931 to Benjamin J. and Lucille (Cackowski) Case. She graduated Riverhead High School with the Class of 1949. She went on to work as a clerk for the Suffolk County Board of Elections in Yaphank.

Case enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Suffolk County Women’s Bowling Association. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, travel and spending time with her family.

Predeaceased by her parents and her brother, Robert, she is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Keller and Pauline Case, both of Riverhead, Dorothy Kappenbery of Westhampton Beach and Richard Case of Wading River.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home, 336 Marcy Avenue, Riverhead. A service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Riverhead Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Case’s name be made to the charity of your choice.
