Margaret Namiotka, of Jamesport, died at her home Nov. 24, 2014. She was 59 years old.

Known as Peggy Smith, she raced in modified competition at the Riverhead Raceway and was a former Grand Am late model champion at Riverhead and late model Rookie of The Year at the Freeport Stadium Speedway.

She is the only female racing champion to be added to Riverhead Raceway’s ‘Wall of Fame.’

The family will receive visitors Sunday and Monday, Nov. 30-Dec. 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The family invites her colleagues and fans to gather at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. for a race reunion.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at Jamesport Cemetery. The Rev. Rick Saladon of Living Water Full Gospel Church will officiate. The funeral procession will form at DeFriest-Grattan at 10 a.m.

Memorial donations to East End Hospice or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
