Riverhead Town Police are investigating a burglary that occurred overnight at the Bean & Bagel Cafe on Middle Country Road in Calverton.
Police said the owner of the cafe called 911 at 2:14 a.m. today to report that someone had smashed a west side entry door, entered the building and removed an undetermined amount of petty cash.
Police units and the K9 officer responded and located some money left behind in the area, police said in a press release this morning.
Detectives are investigating the burglary and anyone with information is asked to call the Riverhead detective division at 727-4500 ext. 326.
