Riverhead Police are searching for a white pickup truck that struck a 19-year-old male pedestrian on Herricks Lane in Jamesport at around 6 o’clock tonight.

The victim was transported by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center with a fractured ankle and other injuries, according to radio reports. EMS initially called for a Suffolk County police helicopter to transport the  victim to Stony Brook University Hospital, but took him by ambulance to PBMC instead to expedite treatment.

The vehicle was traveling approximately 40 mph when it hit the victim, according to radio reports. The crash occurred in the vicinity of number 711, which is on the north end of Herricks Lane.
