Riverhead Rotary is seeking donations to support its annual holiday giving campaign, asking the community to remember the “reason for the season” and raise funds to help community members in need.

Each year, the club buys Christmas presents for needy families in the community. The families are referred to the club by school social workers.

With the help of Riverhead High School NJROTC cadets, Rotarians each year pack and distribute to families in need some 200 bushel baskets containing all the fixings for a holiday turkey dinner.

The club has been doing this holiday outreach each year at Christmas for more than 35 years.
