Riverhead High School NJROTC is holding a fundraiser raffle to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors by raising awareness and enlisting aid and assistance for injured military service members.

The quilt, titled “Fractured,” was designed by P. J. Anderson, an author and artist with over 35 published patterns. The corner stars represent the armed forces, and the lone star portrays the individual men and women who gave their all. It is representative of all American military personnel, what they endure in combat and the unfortunate conditions in which they often come home.

Moved by the desire to help the Wounded Warriors Project, Carol Floege, grandmother of Cadet Christian Hojenski, prepared and assembled the 65” x 65” quilt made from high quality Batik fabric and donated it to the NJROTC unit for the fundraiser.

Tickets are $5 each, available through any of the NJROTC cadets or by calling Peter G. McCarthy, Lt. Col., USMC (Ret.) at (631) 369-6806. The drawing will be held on April 18, 2015, at the annual NJROTC raffle auction at Riverhead High School. Eighty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Project and twenty percent to the RHS NJROTC Unit.
