Six Riverhead Town employees retiring after decades of public service were honored by the Riverhead Town Board yesterday afternoon during the board’s special year-end  meeting:

  • Chester Majeski, 42-year Riverhead Water District employee;
  • Gary Pendzick, 40-year Riverhead Water District employee and its superintendent for the past 32 years;
  • Verna Campbell, 37-year Riverhead Town Hall receptionist;
  • Timothy Hubbard, 32-year veteran, detective first grade, Riverhead Police Department;
  • Emil Breitenbach, 30-year veteran Riverhead  Town Police Department;
  • Richard Gadzinski, 30-year Riverhead Town employee.

Each was presented with an inscribed plaque and a proclamation from the town supervisor thanking them for their many years of service.

Other longtime employees retiring this year who were not present for yesterday’s ceremonies are: senior center cook Anne Clinton; mechanic Richard Warner; sanitation supervisor John Reeve; environmental planner Joseph Hall; Police Officer Christopher Parkin; head clerk Victoria Vourakis; and principal account clerk Janet Griffin.
