Barbara A. MacNichol of Riverhead, formerly of Sag Harbor, died on January 11, 2015 at Peconic Bay Medical Center.
She is survived by her son, Robert B. Macnichol and his wife, Van, of California; daughter Kathryn Wojcirchowski and her husband, Walter, of upstate New York and daughter Ellen Wilcenski and her husband, Bernard, of Speonk. She will be remembered by her 13 grandchildren, who lovingly nick-named her “Pookie,” which she pretended to hate (but secretly loved) as well as 12 great grandchildren who referred to her at “The Great Grand Pook” and “Super Grandma.”
Barbara worked at Sag Harbor Savings Bank until she retired in 1992. She was a talented seamstress and along with her dear friend Michelle Dunkirk belonged to a quilt group in Sag Harbor.
She enjoyed annual vacations to Portland, Maine to visit her beloved and life long friends John and Winona Woodbury.
A memorial Service will be held at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home on Saturday, January 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.
