Riverhead High School senior Cody Weiss, who wrestles at 126 pounds, joined the Suffolk County Century Club by notching the 100th win of his high school wrestling career last week. The win came during a meet at Comsewogue High School on Jan. 10.

Cody is the ninth Riverhead wrestler to pass the 100-win mark since 1972, according to records kept by the LI Wrestling Association. Other Blue Waves to reach the landmark victory were: Todd Davey (1998), Ricky Roche (1999), Brandon Zielazny (2001), Greg Goodale (2002), Chris Raynor (2004), Chris Darrow (2004), Matt Scott (2005) and Fred Wilkinson (2006).

In addition to wrestling, Weiss plays on the Riverhead baseball and golf teams. He is a member of KID Wrestling and participates in the Wave-to-Wave Sports Mentoring Program.

Cody says he has not decided which college he will attend, but Hofstra University and Fairleigh Dickerson University are high on his list of possible choices. He plans to major in criminal justice.
