Edward Stanley Adams of Mattituck died at his home on Monday, January 12, 2015. He was 76 years old.

Born in Mattituck on October 26, 1938 to Frank and Katherine (nee Miska) Adams, he was a graduate of Mattituck High School.

He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and then as a reservist.

Ed had been a custodian for Mattituck-Cutchogue School District for 33 years before his retirement. He also served as Commissioner for the Mattituck Park District for 14 years and was a member of the Eastern Long Island Bowling Association for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Ryan whom he married on December 12, 1976 in Jamesport and his daughters, Cindy Anderson and Joan Coby, both of Riverhead; his brother, Tony of Lenox, Massachusetts; his sister, Vera Taborsky of Venice, Florida; and four grandchildren: Tim Lohr, Jr., Kyle Lohr, William Anderson and Kelly Anderson. He was predeceased by his brother, Joe and his sister, Stella Beckerich.

The family received friends on Wednesday, January 14th at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 15th at The Mattituck Presbyterian Church, officiated by Reverend Pat Smith. Interment, with US Army honors, followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
