Due to the inclement weather, the Saturday, Jan. 24 afternoon performance has been canceled.

Christmas isn’t over yet – especially for the Scrooges among us.

Riverhead Middle School’s Middle Masques drama club will debut its retelling of “A Christmas Carol” this weekend, along with its familiar lessons of charity, compassion and love that are relevant no matter the time of year.

“Scrooge,” a school production of the classic Charles Dickens tale, tells the story of a miserly old man haunted by the ghosts of Christmases past, present and future. About 40 students are involved in the play, which will be presented over the next two weekends in the Pulaski Street School auditorium.

Performances will be held Fridays, Jan. 23 and 30 at 7 p.m., and Saturdays, Jan. 24 and 31 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

For more information about purchasing tickets in advance, call Patricia Skura at 631-369-6767.
