It may not be the world’s biggest snowman ever, but he’s so big, school buses were slowing down to allow kids to gawk at him and people stopped to take selfies with him.
“Juno” stands about 10 feet tall — not counting his plastic-trash-can top hat.
The Lincoln Street “resident” is the creation of John Edstrom, who lives in the home where Juno stands guard, and his friends, Travis Jiminez and Joe Hill.
It took the three men “about three hours” to create Juno. Late today, they were working on Juno’s little brother — who they were thinking about naming “Bud” in honor of the spirit that fueled their effort today.
In addition to his plastic-trash-can top hat, Juno is decorated with snow-shovel arms, a banana for a nose and a king-sized bed sheet for a scarf — which didn’t fit around Juno’s neck, by the way. It took the trio about three hours to build, Edstrom said. Three hours, a snowblower and and 18-pack of Bud Light, he added.
“This is my first snow man ever,” Hill said. “I grew up in the city,” he explained.
“It’s the biggest snow man I ever saw,” Suffolk County Legislator Al Krupski said tonight. “I drove by it and I was like — what?”
Juno has a base of snow about 16 feet wide by 12 feet deep.
“We cheated and used a snow blower,” Edstrom said.
The monster snow man can be seen — and photographed — at 18 Lincoln St., just west of Roanoke.
