One woman was sent to the hospital this morning after a two-car accident at the intersection of Osborn Avenue and Court Street.

A silver Honda headed eastbound on Court Street allegedly went through a red light after its driver suddenly experienced dizziness, according to police on the scene.

The Honda collided with a black Acura headed south on Osborn Avenue, police said, careening the Acura into a snowbank in front of the Salvation Army building.

Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported the female driver of the Honda to Peconic Bay Medical Center for non-lifethreatening injuries, police said. Neither her male passenger nor the driver of the Acura needed medical treatment, police said.

The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.
