Suffolk County Community College’s Annual Faculty Art Exhibit is replete with rich visual works from artists working in a wide range of media and will be held from Feb. 25 through March 27 at the College’s Lyceum Gallery on the Eastern Campus in Riverhead.

Among the artists, Professor John Stefanik of Sag Harbor, who teaches 2D Design, will display his luminous black and white photographs of Long Island landscapes that harken to Hudson River School Romanticism. Professor Beth Giles of North Haven, who teaches Drawing and Art Appreciation, will exhibit her handmade paper reliefs composed of her printmaking imagery. Professor Denise Fehr of Manorville, who teaches Color Theory, will exhibit her hand-built, raku-fired ceramics. Prof. Linda Prentiss of Ronkonkoma, who teaches Adobe Photoshop, and Professor Meredith Starr of Plainview, who teaches Drawing and 2D Design, will exhibit their graphite and mixed media drawings. Professor. Margery Gosnell-Qua of Remsenburg, who teaches Drawing and Art Appreciation, will display landscape collages and oil paintings from her Tiana Bay Series.

An artists’ reception open to the general public will be held on Thursday, March 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Gallery is closed on Sundays and holidays. On March 3rd the gallery will be open 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. For information call 631-548-2536.
