Two women and three children were sent to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Doctors Path and Northville Turnpike in Riverhead at about 4:45 this afternoon.
They were all occupants of a black Mercedes sedan heading northeast on Northville Turnpike when it collided with a Ford van northbound on Doctors Path. The male driver of the van was not injured.
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance transported all five patients to Peconic Bay Medical Center, police said. None of the injuries was life-threatening, police said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
