A two-car accident sent three people to the hospital early this afternoon.

A man was traveling eastbound down Sound Avenue in a Suzuki Forenza when he collided with a Chrysler 300 attempting to turn left onto Sound Avenue from Twomey Avenue at around 12:15 p.m., police said.

The male drivers of both cars and the female passenger in the Chrysler were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance. All injuries were non-life-threatening, according to police.

Sound Avenue is temporarily closed from Twomey Avenue to Osborn Avenue while the accident is being cleared. No tickets are being issued at this time, police said.
