Riverhead Police are warning residents of “major flooding” on local roadways.
Reeves Avenue, Doctor’s Path, the southern end of Hulse Landing Road and any low-lying roadways are experiencing major ponding, police said in a press release tonight. Travelers should seek alternate routes.
Vehicles have become stranded in floods, police said.
“Do not attempt to drive over a flooded road. Turn around and go another way,” police said. “If you become stranded or in case of an emergency dial 911 or call the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.”
