Robert John Tooker of Aquebogue died at his home on March 10, 2015 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was 65 years old.

He was born on August 6, 1949 in Bayshore, NY to Carroll and Muriel (nee Sharp) Tooker and was a graduate of Sayville High School.

From 1968-1971, he served in the United States Army as an E4 during the Vietnam Conflict and was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal. Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the National Defense Medal

Bob lived in Sayville until 1996. On March 7, 1970, he married the former Susan Koke in East Islip and together they made their home in Southold and more recently in Aquebogue.

He was a carpenter by trade and had been a member of St. John Nepomucene R.C. Church in Bohemia.

Surviving is his wife Susan Tooker; a daughter Molly Tooker Hawkins (Paul) of Southold; two brothers, Peter Tooker of Mattituck and Richard Tooker of Sayville; his step-father: Jack Wills of Mattituck and two grandchildren: Chloe Jane Hawkins and Amanda Snyder Hughes. He was predeceased by a son Christopher R. Tooker in 2010.

The family received friends on March 12, 2015 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck where Deacon Jeff Sykes conducted wake services and military honors were rendered by the United States Army. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on March 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church by Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
