The National Weather Service in New York has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow… which is in effect from 6 am Friday to 2 am EDT Saturday.
* Locations… New York City… northeast New Jersey… the lower Hudson Valley… southern Connecticut… and Long Island.
* Hazards… snow.
* Accumulations… 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts.
* Timing… starting the Friday morning commute and continuing through Friday evening.
* Impacts… hazardous travel conditions due to reduced visbilities and snow covered roads.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow… sleet… or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities… and use caution while driving.
