Members of the Riverhead Blue Waves boys basketball teams served up a pancake breakfast this morning at the Applebee’s restaurant on Route 58 in a fundraiser for the boys basketball booster club.
The team served about 65 people, said booster club officer Kiesha Washington. It was a good turnout despite this morning’s inclement weather, she said; the event raised about $430 dollars for the club.
The booster club assists the teams with uniform purchases and helps the boys buy sneakers too, Washington said.
Diners were served pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juice.
