River and Roots Community Garden, located on West Main Street at the end of Griffing Avenue and by the Peconic River in downtown Riverhead, is preparing for the 2015 season and accepting new gardeners. The cost for a 6-by-10-foot raised beds for planting vegetables and flowers is $25 per year. The garden has regular potlucks, work parties and opportunities to learn more about growing vegetables.
