Police have charged a Riverhead man in connection with a Jan. 17 assault at the Loose Caboose bar on Railroad Avenue.

Police report arresting Troy Goode, 24, of Oakland Drive today on a second-degree assault charge. Goode struck another person in the face with a bar stool at the bar, according to the police report.

Police records indicate a disturbance reported by a man at the bar at 3:34 a.m. on Jan. 17. Responding officers were not able to locate other people involved in the incident, according to the report.

Goode’s arrest today was the result of an ongoing investigation, police said. He was processed and held for arraignment, according to the report.

This was the third assault reported by police at that location in the past year.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
