On May 29, Billy Joel’s original band –The Lords of 52nd Street  – the Long Island legends that were the backbone to Billy Joel’s sound – are scheduled to perform one of their first Long Island appearances at the Historic Suffolk Theater in Riverhead, NY. Both Mike Delguidice from Billy’s current band and “Big Shot”and David Clark from “Songs in the Attic” will share front-man duties for the show. Performers will include Richie Cannata on tenor saxophone, Liberty Devitto on drums and percussion, and Russell Javors on rhythm guitar – along with other great musicians.

“We are beyond thrilled to bring in these legendary musicians that helped to create that sound that we know from so many of Billy Joel’s greatest records over the years,” according to Suffolk Theater General Director Daniel Binderman. “Imagine – this isn’t at all a tribute — these are the guys you would see in Madison Square Garden at all those Billy Joel concerts– at an intimate venue like this – what an honor!”

The full line-up of musicians is still to be announced but should include some other well-known names from the Long Island music scene.
