She was awarded the prestigious Section XI Suffolk Zone Award in 2014 and was named Suffolk County Academic All American.

Katie also played soccer for the Sound Beach SC Stingrays United this year under Coach Noah Stiles. She was the starting central back and was also voted team captain.

“I have been Katie’s coach for the past 4 years; she is an outstanding soccer player, a tremendous leader, a great teammate, responds extremely well when challenged and encourages, motivates and supports her teammates to do the same,” Coach Niles said in a statement. “I am very confident that Katie will have an immediate impact and contribute to the overall success of the Woman’s Soccer Team at Hamilton College over the next 4 years.”

Katie is “very internally driven,” he mom Alice says. “When she puts her mind to something, she makes it happen. That’s the way she has been her whole life.”
