A woman was injured this afternoon when she lost control of her SUV on Route 25 in Calverton and left the roadway, overturning at the edge of a patch of woods.

The driver of the westbound Ford Explorer was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps complaining of back pain, according to police. There were no passengers in the Explorer. No summonses were issued, police said. The accident remains under investigation.

The crash occurred shortly after 12 o’clock.
