A vehicle struck a utility pole on Main Road in Aquebogue Sunday afternoon, knocking the pole into the roadway and shutting down a portion of the road.
A woman driving an Elantra Honda collided with a utility pole around 1:30 p.m. in front of Shade Tree Lane, according to police.
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported her to Peconic Bay Medical Center with non-lifethreatening injuries, police said. There were no other passengers in the car.
PSEG is responding to the scene to clear the pole from the roadway. No power outages have yet been reported on PSEG’s online outage map due to the accident.
Police closed Main Road from Shade Tree Lane to Linda Avenue, diverting traffic down Shade Tree Lane, to allow for the accident scene to be cleared.
