Elbert (“Tommy”) Jefferson died April 22, 2015. He was 59 years old.

Riverhead March 4, 1956, he was the son of Alice Jefferson and the late James Hughly.
He graduated from Bellport High School in 1974. He enjoyed baseball, football and a host of other sports, but basketball was his passion.
Predeceased by his father and a brother, Rudy, he is survived by his mother and stepfather Ernie Boatwright, of Alabama; his sons, Sean, of Riverhead and Elbert Jr., of South Carolina; his daughter-in-law, Kawana, of South Carolina; grandchildren Dazjuan, Darrion, Christian and Taylor; by his aunts, Vivian Holmes, of Bellport and Patsy Downing, of Riverhead; a dear friend, Barbara Jamison; and by a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead on Tuesday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park in Coram.
