Joseph W. “Bunny” Zuhoski of Mattituck died on April 23, 2015. He was 72 years old.
Bunny was born on July 19, 1942 in Greenport to Joseph Bruno and Rose (nee Bialeski) Zuhoski. and on June 26, 1965, “fifty wonderful years ago”, he married the former Carolyn Grodski.
Always a farmer, Bunny had been a correction officer with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department.
He enjoyed fishing, farming, cutting cauliflower and playing softball.
He was also loved to travel; especially to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos, polka music and polka dancing and was a loyal Red Sox fan.
Surviving is his wife Carol; two children: Wendy Zuhoski (Danny Okeefe) and Greg Zuhoski (Melanie McEvoy) and three sisters: RoseMarie Haupt, Christine Pumillo and Cindy Zuhoski.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27th at 11 a.m. by Father Robert Kuznik.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Fork Breast Health Coalition or Mattituck Fire Department Rescue Squad.
