East End Women’s Network Members Voted!

We are proud to announce that Melanie McEvoy has been selected as our 2015 Woman of The Year!

McEvoy has served on the East End Women’s Network Board of Directors for the last three years and has been instrumental in the success of many of our programs including the fundraising efforts that have allowed us to expand the EEWN college scholarship program.

She also serves as Vice President of the North Fork Breast Health Coalition where she has contributed significantly to their success as well.

As a former recipient of NFBHC services McEvoy understands the value of community support for breast cancer patients and is paying it forward by dedicating her time and talents to the cause.

McEvoy resides in Laurel and owns one of the most sought after event planning businesses for not-for-profit organizations in the City of New York.

Please join us in congratulating Melanie McEvoy as we honor her at our Woman of the Year Member Mixer on Tuesday, May 19th at Pace’s Dockside Restaurant located on the beautiful Mattituck Inlet.

The East End Women’s Network was founded in 1981. The purpose of this organization is to bring together women of diverse accomplishment and experience, directing women into policy-making positions through the dissemination and sharing of career opportunities; to educate members and the public on issues affecting women on the East End; and to promote the interests, conditions and positions of women in science, business, industry, labor, government, the arts, education and public service.

The East End Women’s Network has approximately 150 members, with 35-80 members regularly attend the monthly meetings. Non-members are welcome, and a good many attend our monthly meetings to learn about featured topics. Dinner meetings take place at a different restaurant each month, alternating from the North to the South Fork, from September through June.
